Gatch Electrical Contractors, Inc.

Jason Lamb: I've been an employee since 1998, started out as an electrician working for Jimmy, and then moved up to a foreman role and then was very interested in becoming a project manager estimator.

Jason Meyer: So I've been here just over 15 years. I'm the accounting manager. I handle anything from insurance, to being involved in payroll. Kind of had to learn on the go and and worked real close with Jimmy in doing so.

Bryan Eddings: Yeah I've worked for the company for almost 10 years. I started in the field and worked my way up to project management in the office went to work on the electrical crew, kind of fell in love with it, enjoyed the aspects of it and the challenges of it.

Kelley Canady: I've been here a little over eight years. I helped Jason Meyer with accounting. My previous job it was just so stressful and I didn't like going to work every day but it's not like that here.

Allen Boyd: I've been here 23 years. I started as an electrician and then with the growth of the company I was able to move into the office approximately
four years after starting. I enjoy the people I work with, I enjoy the type of work we do.

Jason Meyer: You know each day is something different, it's not a job where you're coming in doing the same thing every day which is, which is just part of the appeal to it.

Bryan Eddings: I remember the first day on the job and I guess one thing that really stuck out me was the willingness of everyone to teach you and kind of mentor you through the program.

Jason Lamb: It's never a competition. we're all here as a team.

Allen Boyd: People like working here because I think they're treated better than other companies. Once they're here they, they typically stay.

Jimmy Gatch: The average tenure for our top field foreman, for example, is approximately 21 years.

Chris Sormrude: I have been with guys now since October of 98. I don't know that I'd work anywhere else. I started at the bottom as an apprentice and uh working on my 25th year.

Jason Meyer: Even some of the younger guys, the inexperienced guys that come on, you know, we're going to encourage you to participate in the apprenticeship program which is a four-year program, full reimbursement, as long as you meet the criteria that you have to meet.

Justin Sawyers: I didn't have any electrical knowledge at all before I started and they took me in, gave me a little pay raise, I said all right instead of college you'll be going to this for four years, getting paid the whole time. You only have to go to class like you know a few hours a week at most.

Allen Boyd: You could be making really good money in a matter of four years with no with no college debt.

Jason Meyer: You know we're always looking for the best and the brightest group of people that we can have working for us. You know we've got a what we feel like is a great benefit package from the insurance, um we also offer you know competitive pay, 401K program, profit sharing, you know we want to, we want you to be here you know for the long run.

Jonathan Blanton: I don't know that there would be another contractor that could ever compare as far as taking care of their their people and in turn the people want to take care of Gatch.

Terrell Todd: I've worked with companies before, they didn't I'm gonna say recognize you but I I can tell you that Jimmy, who's every employee you've got, and we'll stop and talk with them.

Chris Sormrude: They've always treated me like family, not like a worker. In the end of the day that's what it's always boiled down to me.

Jimmy Gatch: I know family is an overused term in business but we truly care about our employees.

Allen Boyd: There's a family atmosphere but also it's the people, we enjoy having fun and it makes the day go by a lot quicker when you work with people that you like.

Jason Lamb: We recently kind of just put together a eight ball pool tournament and all the employees come to a pool hall where we had just a great time, you know when you wake up every day knowing you come in and you've got support around you, that's what gets me motivated to come in here every day.

Kelley Canady: Listen from my other job I'm thankful every morning I'm coming to this job.
